The final and deciding rounds of the ‘Mini Sport Mini Cup’ and the HRCR’s Old Stager Championship take place in the Isle of Man next weekend and the competition is beginning to heat up!
Mini Sport sponsored driver Clive King and navigator Anton Bird will be vying for the top spot in a Austin Cooper S battling it out against Peter Horsburgh.
Adrian Kermode has been in today with his Morris Mini for a Rolling Road tuning from Mini Sport’s Wizard Rob in preparation for the Manx … Will the Mini Sport magic be working in his favour once again, or will he be beaten to the post?
Ray Cunningham will be also be joining us from Ireland to pitch up against the other Minis.
Rob at Mini Sport has also helped out Phil Harris this morning with an engine from another rally car to get his Morris Cooper up and running following on from engine damage in a previous rally, with Phil adding that “We are so grateful to him [Rob] for his brilliant support – I have been a customer of Mini Sport for over 30 years, and their level of service is just fantastic.”
Mini Sport regulars Peter Ellerby and Shane Gamble will also be battling it out on the course, hoping for the top spot.
However these final stages will also see part of another historic championship, adding yet more Minis in to this rally.
Also being joined by Shinobu Kitani and his three Minis all the way from Japan!
The “Manx” is notoriously tough on both driver and car. Indeed, the super-fast lanes that criss-cross the Island are regarded as one of the best training grounds for the World Championship and the Island has played host to no fewer than 7 future World Champions!

The HRCR Mintex ‘Old Stager’ Asphalt Stage Championship inc MiniSport Mini Challenge on the Isle of Man Rally will be covered by Special Stage Video, the one-hour long program will be aired on the 7th October 2016 on Motor TV and on Special Stage YouTube channel. It will consist of a review of the year and Isle of Man coverage.
