Now the dust has settled for us at Mini Sport after IMM 2019 Bristol… Where do we even begin?
Firstly, we would like to thank the Organisers of IMM 2019 Bristol, Team Bristol and all of their volunteers, who under very difficult circumstances delivered us all a fantastic IMM!
The weather was absolutely atrocious, but that was something beyond their control, the team handled the many issues & hurdles that were created wonderfully!
BIG thanks to Emma, Andy & the whole team.
Next up, we need to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended Paddy Hopkirk’s signing on the Mini Sport stand, on the Saturday, where an incredible amount of people turned up to greet the Mini Legend himself!
Between the Mini Sport Ltd signing & the Mini Sport USA signing, a massive £671.10 was raised for Paddy’s charities – fantastic!
Paddy Hopkirk was presented with an incredible 33EJB cake on the Saturday, lovingly made by Cakes By Craftymaw, from The Mini Clan.
Holding the largest charity event in Scotland “The Thistle Run” at the end of May every year where Mini’s from all over the UK attend, this year they had 178 Minis complete the run from Loch Lomond Shores to Largs Promanade, to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland and RNLI Largs – raising a massive £7000!
With it being the Clan’s 20th Anniversary & also the Mini’s 60th Birthday, Mary made 5 cakes to give out to all the 450 people attending as an extra treat. Mary then decided that seen as there were so many Birthdays the week of the IMM, that she would present another large cake (in IMM colours), that was then shared out with IMM goers.
The Mini 60 Birthday Party & Show on the Sunday – it truly the shining star of the weekend! Hosting our BMC Abingdon Reunion in the Mini Sport Village, we were joined by the BMC Veterans: Stuart Turner, Dudley Pike, Bill Price, Tommy Eales, Brian Culcheth, Mike Garton, Basil Wales, Alec Poole, Mike Wood, Den Green, Don Barrow, Paul Easter & Paddy Hopkirk.
An astounding line-up that we were truly honoured to host, the signing session was astonishing, we unfortunately had to turn people away in the end as time had run out!
We are absolutely delighted to announce that a massive £360 was raised in the BMC signing session, with all proceeds being donated to Bill Price’s chosen charity – Great Ormond Street Hospital and Children’s Charity, a decision we wholeheartedly support.
Mini Sport Ltd has chosen to round that up to £500 & we would like to thank everyone who attended & donated at the BMC Abingdon Reunion signing session.
The Q&A session in the Barn saw our Veterans take centre stage – in front of a packed our Barn, with questions being lead by Team Mini Sport’s Clive King, we were treated to some fascinating tales, anecdotes from days gone by & the glory days of the Minis – from those who experienced it first hand!
We cannot thank the BMC Veterans enough, for making the day SO special, one ourselves & IMM-ers alike will not forget in a hurry.
We need to thank everyone who brought their extraordinary Minis to display, that really set the backdrop for the week & garnered a LOT of attention. A whopping 26 Minis displayed with us across the event, creating the most spectacular entrance to our stand!
Last, but by no means least, we’d like to thank every single person who came to see us at IMM 2019 Bristol! We know the weather wasn’t great, but we still had a fantastic time celebrating Mini 60!
