Hard as it might be to believe, Mini Action Day will celebrate its 25th birthday this year, with the original show having taken place on the 26th of September 1992! The event has since grown year upon year, in the process becoming one of the most popular events on the bulging Mini show calendar, and the only one that can boast a roster of track action. Not only is Mini Action Day the only place to see Britain’s most iconic car being driven in the manner it was intended, it’s also a show with the heritage to match the Mini itself – it’s now the country’s oldest show dedicated to Issigonis’ masterpiece, and 2017’s running on Saturday 30th September looks set to be the best yet.

Its Castle Combe location has always marked Mini Action Day out as something a little different, and rarely has a car been better suited to this circuit than the Mini. This year will see the show’s rich history of on track heroics expand, with all day action slated to take place between 9am and 5pm, plus open public sessions, parades and even a FREE lunchtime cruise scheduled at 12.30. It means that there’s never been a better time or place to really get your car’s A-Series singing!

Pride of place will of course be given to long time show supporters, BMC fettlers and all round Mini legends, Mini Sport. They’ll be bringing a selection of sensational projects to help celebrate their 50th anniversary, and will also be running a series of special offers and reductions which simply won’t be found anywhere else. Mini Sport will also be operating their much vaunted ‘Click and Collect’ service, allowing you to source the part you want via the firm’s website, order it online and collect it at the show. It’s the hassle free way of bagging much needed Mini hardware, head to www.minisport.com to find out more!

Car clubs will be placed front and centre at Mini Action Day, meaning that there’s the chance to see hundreds (if not thousands) of Minis of all types, specs and eras packing the paddock. There will even be a wonderful assortment of cars from the Cooper Register, perfect for those that like their Minis with a little more pedigree. If you’re on display, be sure to keep your Mini looking polished, as you could be in with the chance of being selected for Mini Sport’s 50th Celebration parade happening on the track at 3pm.

Cherished Parking is perfect for those Mini owners that aren’t displaying with a club but would still like the opportunity to showcase their car, though space is limited. Passes can be had for just £12 and admit driver and car, making them ideal for those that intend to take to the track at various points throughout the day.

Still hunting for the perfect manifold, period correct interior trim or even a model of Timo Makinen’s Monte Carlo winning Mini? Then Mini Action Day once again has you covered, this time with its expansive Trade Village. It is the place to unearth those hard to source specialist Mini components or pieces of memorabilia!

Family friendly fun is very much a Mini Action Day strong suit, something reflected in the admission prices, with kids (those under 17 years of age) going completely free! Advanced adult admission is £12, senior admission £8 and camping passes a mere £8, meaning there’s even more incentive to book well in advance.

Mini Action Day 2017 will doubtless be a show that’s looked back upon with fondness by the entire Mini community for years to come, primarily as it marks such a significant milestone. There can be no better way to celebrate a full quarter century of Mini-based action at Castle Combe than Mini Action Day on Saturday September 30th.
