Mini Ace Clive King to compete in the HRCR ‘Old Stager’ Mini Sport Mini Cup!

As we enter another season of the HRCR ‘Old Stager‘ incorporating the Mini Sport Mini Cup, the HRCR continue to keep us updated with the latest new for the ‘Old Stager‘ and Mini Sport Mini Cup. See below for the latest instalment of the HRCR‘s pre-championship preparation for the 2016 season and the additional prize provided by Mini World Magazine…

Mini Ace Clive King and Co-driver Anton Bird will join other Minis in this years’ HRCR Mintex ‘old Stager’ Asphalt Stage Rally Championship. After a successful year campaigning in both the Mini Cup and the HRCR championship although not winning the championship, the year ultimately ending on a high by winning their class on the Wales Rally Great Britain amongst WRC cars, backed by Mini Sport.

Not only will Clive King be competing himself he is hoping to bring over fifthteen more minis to the first round of the challenge the AGBO Stages on March 20th 2016. John Hunt championship secretary explains “The championship will be run primarily to MSA regulations for historic rally cars, to provide a level playing field for all. To enter the championship, you will need to be a member of the HRCR and hold an MSA National B or higher grade competition licence and your car will need to comply with the MSA historic stage rally vehicle categories 1, 2, 3 and 4 (inc. FIA Appendix K cars) and regulations.

New for 2016 will be an open class for Classic Minis, which must run A series engines and comply with MSA regulations but are not fully compliant with the historic requirements, these cars will only be eligible for their own class award.” There will be separate awards for the leading competitors in each age category, no overall winner, and a wide range of class awards to aim for.

The popular Mini Sport backed Mini Cup returns and is open to models from any of the age categories.
