April 30th sees the HRCR crews head towards the military Ranges of Epynt for the 2nd round of the Mintex ‘old STAGER’ Asphalt Historic Rally Championship, the BG Land Rovers Sponsored Dixies Challenge Rally.
Co promoted by Foresters Club and Forest of Dean Motorclubs it will see the crews take on 11 stages over the infamous roads of the Epynt military ranges with a centrally based service area at Dixies Corner.
21 Minis have entered the event taking part in the Mini Sport Mini Cup which makes up a quarter of the total entry. Clive King/Anton Bird will be looking to build on their maximum score from the AGBO Stages but will face strong competition including Ray Cunningham/Jared Gill and Colin McDowell/John Heatherington bringing their Minis over all the way from Ireland.
Eifion Thomas/Jordan Wilkinson will lead the HRCR old Stager crews away from the Dixies Corner service area on Sunday morning in their Mk1 Escort RS2000. We welcome back to the Championship Stephen Hall/Aggie Foster in their TR4 and the similar car of Nigel Allcock with Lee Sellars reading the notes as his Triumph 2.5 pi is still undergoing it’s winter rebuild. Doug and Mike Harrison look to bring their Lancia Fulvia HF back on to the asphalt after last year’s first attempt at the championship.
Hopefully the weather will stay dry but that is not looking likely due it being a traditional UK Bank Holiday forecast.
The Dixies Challenge is a spectator friendly event but no alcohol or dogs are allowed on the Ranges.
Full entry seeded entry list can be found here.
