HRCR Mini Sport Cup Press Release

Following the successful launch of the HRCR Mini Sport Cup at the British Motor Museum on the 12th January the special stage championship, which is just for Minis, has got off to a flying start with over twenty registrations in the first few days. The Championship Secretary John Hunt said how pleased that he was with the club’s decision to promote it as a separate Championship has proved to be the way forward. The competitors can look forward to an exciting and varied season of events and we are now looking forward to the first round, the Jaspers Bakeries AGBO Historic Stages at Weston Park on the 16th March, which has already attracted fifteen Minis in the first few days after opening its entry.

With many returning crews including four previous Mini Cup Winners showing their confidence in the organisation. It is also great to welcome several new crews to the Championship and we are looking forward to getting to know them and to support their efforts. Along side the historic cars the open class for cars that do not fully comply with the historic rules but enter in the spirit of historic rallying continues to thrive.

Along with the competitor support we are pleased that we have retained backing from our major sponsors Mini Sport and Mintex.

Competitors in the 2019 Championship can look forward to the opportunity to get product support and regular prizes on each round of two tyres from Yokohama Tyres, Special Classic Mini Oil from Penrite Lubricants, a variety of tools from Snap On, and new for this season is support from Alan Brown at Questmead who will be supplying a set of Mintex Competition brake pads on each round to the competitor achieving the best improvement on seeding.

Registrations can be made on line at HRCR.co.uk or by contacting the Championship Secretary John Hunt by email at stage@hrcr.co.uk.
