HRCR Mini Sport Cup 2019 Preview

This year sees the 10th anniversary of the Mini Cup, which arguably has become the largest single-make Championship in the World.

The Mini Sport Cup is open to all Minis running A-Series engines, but tries to limit the modifications to keep cost down, and runs classes for all sizes of engine.

They have retained support from Mini Sport, Yokohama Tyres, Mintex Brakes, Penrite Oils.

Spot prizes are being given away on every event from Questmead for competition Mintex Brakes, Penrite for their Completion Oil and Andrew O’Hanlon for Snap-on Tools.

The Championship runs over 8 Rounds, which cover the length and breast of the UK with one round in Belgium. The 1st round kicks off with the AGBO stages, taking place at Weston Park Shropshire, on the 16th March, currently 22 Minis have placed an entry for this Stately Home event.

Included on the entry list are four past Mini Cup Champions, regular existing competitors, three father & son competitors and 6 new crews. These look set for a show down over the challenging, sealed roads that cover 30 Stage miles that the Weston Park estate is made up from.

Spectators are welcome to watch or why not get involved, and contact the organisers Owen Motor Club to come and marshal.

If you are interested in joining the Championship & to have a go at rallying, please contact Championship Secretary John Hunt on 01782516275 or email stage@hrcr.co.uk.
