Proudly celebrating its 26th anniversary in 2018, Castle Combe Circuit’s Mini Action Day promises to become THE place to be for any self-respecting Mini fanatic when it takes over the Wiltshire race track once again on Saturday 29 September.
With vast paddock displays boasting hundreds of the finest examples of this celebrated car from the UK and beyond, as well as an impressive trade village and, of course, endless Mini track action held throughout the day, there’s clearly plenty to get excited about. And now there’s something else to whet show-goers’ appetites, too, with the announcement that rallying superstar Paddy Hopkirk will be making an appearance!
Undoubtedly one of the most significant names in the history of this infamous British marque, Hopkirk’s unrivalled successes on the rally stages – often from behind the wheel of a Mini – helped to spur both himself and the brand onto immortal fame. Undoubtedly his finest moment came when he took his now-infamous ’33 EJB’ Cooper S to outright victory at the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally – a car he’ll proudly be showcasing on show sponsor Mini Sport Ltd’s booth during the day. With the firm once again showcasing a range if its sensational products, too, it’s a stand that’ll be simply unmissable for anyone in attendance!
Mini Action Day fuses everything we love about both new and old versions of this small-but-mighty little car, boasting club stands, public track time, top car competitions, trade stands and of course, a fun, friendly vibe found throughout. Discounted advanced entry tickets are still available from the event’s website, priced at £12*. They will also be available on-the-door for £15. As always, under 17s go free.
